Anomalous dimension of the gluon operator in pure Yang-Mills theory.

چکیده
We present new one loop calculations that confirm the theorems of Joglekar and Lee on the renormalization of composite operators. We do this by considering physical matrix elements with the operators inserted at non-zero momentum. The resulting IR singularities are regulated dimensionally. We show that the physical matrix element of the BRST exact gauge variant operator which appears in the energy-momentum tensor is zero. We then show that the physical matrix elements of the classical energy-momentum tensor and the gauge invariant twist two gluon operator are independent of the gauge fixing parameter. A Sudakov factor appears in the latter cases. The universality of this factor and the UV finiteness of the energy-momentum tensor provide another method of finding the anomalous dimension of the gluon operator. We conjecture that this method applies to higher loops and takes full advantage of the triangularity of the mixing matrix. PACS number(s): 11.15.Bt,12.38.Bx Typeset using REVTEX

The anomalous dimension of the gluon-ghost mass operator in Yang-Mills theory
The local composite gluon-ghost operator ( 1 2 AA μ + αcc ) is analysed in the framework of the algebraic renormalization in SU(N) Yang-Mills theories in the Landau, CurciFerrari and maximal abelian gauges. We show, to all orders of perturbation theory, that this operator is multiplicatively renormalizable. Furthermore, its anomalous dimension is not an independent parameter of the theory, bein...
متن کاملThe anomalous dimension of the composite operator A in the Landau gauge
The local composite operator A2 is analysed in pure Yang-Mills theory in the Landau gauge within the algebraic renormalization. It is proven that the anomalous dimension of A2 is not an independent parameter, being expressed as a linear combination of the gauge β function and of the anomalous dimension of the gauge fields. متن کاملImproved Renormalization Group Analysis for Yang-Mills Theory
We apply an improved renormalization group analysis for pure Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions in the Landau gauge and O(N) nonlinear sigma model in two dimensions. We find a pole in the gluon two-point function at one-loop order, which is generated nonperturbatively. In Yang-Mills theory this may correspond to the expectation value of a gauge invariant operator and emerges as MP/ΛMS ≃ 0.81,...
متن کاملConsistent power corrections to ultraviolet asymptotic solutions in Yang-Mills theory
We show that the 1/p2 power corrections to the ultraviolet asymptotic solutions are allowed as consistent solutions of the coupled Schwinger-Dyson equation for the gluon and (Faddeev-Popov) ghost propagators in Yang-Mills theory. This result supports the existence of the vacuum condensate 〈Aμ〉 with mass dimension 2, as recently suggested by the operator product expansion and lattice simulations...
متن کاملBRST - invariant composite operator of mass dimension 2 in Yang - Mills theory
We discuss the renormalization of a BRST and anti-BRST invariant composite operator of mass dimension 2 in Yang-Mills theory with the general BRST and anti-BRST invariant gauge fixing term of the Lorentz type. The interest of this study stems from a recent claim that the non-vanishing vacuum condensate of the composite operator in question can be an origin of mass gap and quark confinement in a...
